A newly pinned LTJG is falsely beaming with pride in the wardroom of an impotent DDG in 7th Fleet. He would be ashamed if he wasn’t so oblivious to how viscerally mediocre, borderline embarrassing, pinning SWO actually meant. He actually forgot his dreams of being a fighter pilot. Maybe being a SWO is fake, but the effort that goes into being one isn’t.
